Health & Safety

Health & Safety

Crane safety is not just rules, regulations, and controls. Our Association provides all things crane safety related. We have occupational competency standards for all types of crane operators, systems to certify your competency and skills and resources to help you carry out crane tasks safely. At BC Crane Safety we value worker and worksite safety.

Crane health and safety are prioritized in crane operator training.

Things to Know

  1. BC Crane Safety promotes the prevention of work-related injury and disease and the safe return to work of injured workers.
  2. If you want crane occupational standards for training, requirements on crane operator certification, crane safe work practices or access to crane communities of practices, BC Crane Safety is the go to health and safety resource.
  3. Can’t find an answer on our website to your question? Send us a message or call 604-336-4699 to ask.

Safe Work Practices

BC Crane Safety is your go-to resource on crane-related health and safety resources even if it’s historical events, current issues or future trends.

  • History: We post hazard alerts and safety bulletins on worker and worksite near misses, incidents or accidents.
  • Current: We post current safe work practices (like: inspection forms, mobile and tower crane/self-erect crane assembly/disassembly checklists).
  • Future: We post leading trends and data on issues that may impact cranes and crane-related activities, operations, and upcoming health and safety requirements.
