October is Global Ergonomics Month

// October 17, 2024

October marks Ergonomics Month, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and highlighting the importance of ergonomics and human factors when improving workplace safety and efficiency. This month serves as an opportunity for everyone to review how they incorporate ergonomics in their daily work. Small changes can significantly improve comfort, productivity, and safety.

Crane operators face unique ergonomic challenges in their cabins. The mental demands for accuracy and precision during operations cause extra-significant tension on their necks, shoulders, wrists, and fingers.

Crane and Hoist Canada’s Magazine for July/August 2024 features our very own Roberta Sheng-Taylor, Director of Certification and Licensing Strategy, in an interview discussing the need and strategy for crane operators to handle these challenges effectively. You can read the Crane and Hoist Canada Magazine article: Harmonic Ergonomics online to learn more about Roberta’s insights on the concept of harmonic ergonomics and its impact on the industry.
