Lunch and Learn with Energy Safety Canada and Trenton Grover

Energy Safety Canada is hosting a free in-person lunch and learn in Fort St. John, B.C. on October 29, 2025. BC Crane Safety’s Trenton Grover will be attending as a guest speaker.
If you are wanting to learn more about the crane industry and how it is regulated or perhaps you are interested in learning how to become certified as a crane operator, this workshop is for you.
As some of you may know, Trenton joined the BC Crane Safety team earlier this year. Trenton brings a wealth of knowledge on cranes and rigging, with more than 26 years in the industry. Trenton’s experience includes 17 years in the offshore oil and gas industry and an additional 9 years in onshore craning, rigging and instructing.
This workshop will cover:
- An overview of BC Crane Safety.
- The types of cranes in use in the energy industry and their certification hierarchy.
- How to become certified as a crane operator.

The requirements for operators and riggers; certification, qualification, or competency.
- The regulatory requirements for crane inspections, maintenance, operation, and rigging.
- The challenges of operating cranes in the energy industry.
