OHS Regulatory Presentation at Bottom Line Psychological Health and Safety Conference

Bottom Line 2025: Psychological Health and Safety Conference

// December 05, 2025

In late October, Roberta Sheng-Taylor, Director of Certification and Licensing Strategy for BC Crane Safety had the opportunity to attend the psychological health and safety conference Bottom Line 2025: Building Healthy Workplace Cultures hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

To support the many mental health challenges we face today, the CMHA described the conference to be “about advancing psychological health and safety in the workplace by building a sense of community.

Importantly, the conference drives conversations and activity to develop and implement proactive and practical solutions to psychological harm in the workplace while incorporating expert insights from many sectors and industry —insights that Roberta found helpful when considering processes tailored to the crane industry.

One highlight was the panel discussion Psychological Health & Safety Regulation in B.C., featuring:
  • Lori Guiton, Director of Policy, Regulation, and Research, WorkSafeBC
  • Steven Mah, Industry & Program Specialist, WorkSafeBC
  • Diane Ah-Chan, Co-Founder, NextEra Safety
  • Sheila Moir, Retired Director, BC Federation of Labour

It is a reminder that WorkSafeBC mental health regulation updates are on the horizon and employers will see clearer guidance on prevention, timelines, and creating healthier workplaces.
