Clinton Connell 
Executive Director, BC Crane Safety

The BC Crane Safety is BC’s crane certification authority, overseeing a third-party competency base crane certification system, and engages with industry across multiple sectors to support safe crane and hoisting operations in British Columbia. 

Gian Grewal 
Training Coordinator, IUOE Local 115 

Gian is a graduate of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 crane apprenticeship program and now works as their Training Association’s Training Coordinator. 

Ralf Notheis 
Crane Academy Manager, Bigfoot Crane Company Inc. 

A Red Seal Certified mobile crane operator, Ralf has over ten years of crane operation experience in Western Canada. Ralf was an operations and regional manager for six years and is now the Crane Academy Manager of Bigfoot Crane Company Inc. 

Doug Younger 
Prevention Manager and Lead of the WorkSafeBC Crane and Mobile Equipment Initiative Team 

Doug has been with WorkSafeBC for 16 years and was previously a Prevention Officer. Doug is a long-time champion for the safe erection, inspection, maintenance, and operation of cranes.
